Jump in, be part of the scene at Kingsland no matter how young or old. There’s something for everyone. Our children and youth have a great choice of activities mid week and Sundays that will help them learn and discover how to follow Jesus with all their heart, strength, body and mind. No matter what age, there’s something for your family to help you grow and adventure together.

If you are in year 9-13 at school or college check out the Kingsland youth ministry. There’s lots of good things happening, its all relevant for your life and your friends too.

At Kingsland there always seems to be loads going on, we meet on Wednesday evenings at the church, we talk about life and get how our faith affects things and we pray together. Wednesday’s are really for those that want to take their faith seriously and learn more, pray and have a place to talk about whatever is happening and get a God perspective on it.

Friday nights from 7.30 – 9pm is the CO3 cafe night. With chance to chat, use the computers for games and maybe even homework, activities and discussions. CO3 is a chilled place to be on Fridays. Paul and his great team lead this group, “We do it because we just love being active and having fun with the young people. Seeing them grow and being together with their mates is great.

Then there is Sunday morning with Maggie, Tony, Charlyn, Samuel, Bolaji and Kayode. Hannah is our youth worker and also works with CYO, a Christian schools ministry, mainly at the Sixth Form College in Colchester .

We’re involved in Youth Church once a month, even those of us who prefer the morning sermon to the youth group tend to join in on Youth Church Sundays.

Don’t miss out – we also do crazy things like sleepovers, Play Station nights and of course some great summer Christian festivals which are always great fun when we go together as a big group!

Meeting on Sunday mornings and Friday nights, “CO3” is the place to hang out if you are in secondary school.

Youth groups meet on Sundays for discussion, games, bible and being together. So, like the other Sunday groups, they join the rest of the church at the start of the service and then have their own group to encourage an age – appropriate spirituality. Every month we meet together for Youth Church its the most amazing  place to be.

Adventurers – Sunday morning 11am

“On Sunday mornings, we all get together in the church with the adults first but then after a while we go out to make our own group which we call Adventurers’. We learn stuff from the bible, pray, play games, sometimes we do craft and just hang out together with our friends.”

Livewires – Friday nights 6.30-7.30

Hey there, are you at junior school and do you like to have fun when’s schools out? Then come to LiveWires and there will be loads of fun!

“At Livewires we do loads of things like tree rope swings, wide games, bonfire night fireworks, swimming parties … I can’t remember everything because we are always doing so much, It is on a Friday night. We all meet up at 6.30 at the church in Lexden and have a crazy time together. If you bring a friend they can come for free on the first night and after that we pay 50p subs each time. The leaders are all nice too, so we can have lots of fun.

Adventurers and Livewires are for children in school years 3, 4, 5 and 6 (about 7 to 11 years old) Lead by Paul and Maggie, all the teams are DBS checked and work hard to plan appropriate activities for this age group who seem to have boundless energy and can be very excitable – it’s great!

Creche & Starters – Sundays 9.15 & 11am

There’s a group for all of our active youngsters who like discovering the world through play and adventure, bible stories and songs. From toddlers to Key Stage 1, each children’s group is designed to be a place of fun and constructive play through which they can learn about the love of Jesus on a Sunday morning. There are two groups in the 9.15 service and three in the 11am service. They all start after some time in worship together with the adults

Steve Andrews leads the Starters team along with a dedicated group, all of whom ensure the children’s well being is a key priority. “It is an honour to be teaching these young children, sharing with them as they grow in their understanding of Jesus’ love, explore friendships and the world around them. It is a privilege to be a small part of their lives and work with their parents too.”

The Creche and Starters groups run each Sunday morning during the 9.15 and 11am services, enabling parents to participate in the main service while their children are close by enjoying the activities in the Starters group.

Once a month the starters groups join Mega Kids club in the 11am service
