Every September Colchester comes alive with the Free Family Fun Festival. It is held and hosted by a number of Colchester churches working together to give the families of Colchester a great day out. Just because we can! Join us in Lower Castle Park on Saturday 14th September from 11am to 4pm. We’d love to see you.
Soaking up the sunshine. Fun things to do. Listening to live music. Spending time with family and friends. Treating yourself to a homemade cake or a juicy burger. What could be better? We’re planning a great day for you and the whole family. Pretty much all the festival activities on the day will be free. We do charge a little for food and drink and the money we make from that covers our insurance and the hire of the Park. For the last few years, we’ve had bouncy castles, hair braiding, face painting, fun sports, a dog show, beat the keeper, a line up of great musicians, a Tiny Tea Tent, a BBQ and much, much more.
The Park is split into two distinct areas, Upper and Lower Castle Park. You’ll find us on Lower Castle Park. You can reach Castle Park on foot from the east end of Colchester High Street. Simply follow the signs. Alternatively, free parking is available for festival families on a first come, first served basis. Head to Kings Meadow which has a path leading directly to Lower Castle Park. Please note, this is the entrance you’ll have to use if you’re bringing a dog with you as dogs are welcome in Lower Castle Park but not allowed in Upper Castle Park.
