I’m sure you know that the government have moved us to Plan B.
The main difference for us is that people over 12 attending church services now will have to wear masks. Unlike under previous restrictions, we are allowed to sing.
We are continuing with all our plans for Christmas and New Year services. Obviously we will continue to provide as much space as possible by opening Joshua and Genesis rooms. That will create more space than usual for, for example, Comedians and Carols.
We anticipate the 24th December event to be outside
Plan B means that we can continue to operate our community centre and cafe. We don’t have to wear masks in the cafe. We will keep the cafe tables separated for all our events though. So many comment on the large space of our cafe and the way that they feel safe here.
Please pray. Yesterday was busy enough here, but we are slightly concerned, along with the rest of the hospitality sector, for the coming months. We were greatly helped by the furlough scheme, but the signs are that this will not be repeated. Please pray for wisdom for the trustees who met last night, as we continue to navigate through this storm. I know there will be a variety of views about plan B, and maybe our response to it, but our intention has always been to continue as much as possible, and be as open and welcoming as we can be, within the law.
Thank you again to those taking lateral flow tests before attending services etc here
Grace and peace
