I truly do hate mass emails but this is the only I felt I could get the audience I desire. And if you know anything about us Americans, it’s that we like to be noticed…. by the most people possible!!!
However, my narcism is not why I’m emailing you, I actually do have a point I’ll make. We are trying to get a secondary/college aged youth service launched in October. The elements of this service will include a student led worship team, small groups, games, and food. You’ve always gotta have food when it comes to students! And I’m looking to have a dinner provided for them every Tuesday night. The problem is that I need dinner preparers every Tuesday night, and this is the area I’m lacking.
If you would like to get involved in the amazing youth work we are doing here, in the easiest possible way, I could really use your help. I estimate we’ll have around 20 or so to feed at the start, so it should be a relatively easy meal. Pasta’s or pizza always go a long way… plus I’m a pasta guy! I see this is a “once every three month” type commitment unless you’d like to be in a more involved role.
I’m hoping this group becomes a big part of the discipleship journey of our students, as the growth that happens in a small-group type of environment is key to their faith development. Relationships happen there, friendships are made there, and Jesus is shared in real ways there.
Please let me know if you’d like to be involved in this, and I promise I won’t make it all about me as us Americans tend to do. 😆 Bec and I have been blown away by the involvement of the church partners within our youth programs, as the work that happens (and needs to happen) would be impossible to do on our own. Prayers would be amazing as well as we know it’s not us leading this charge and we can’t do it on our own.
My wife and I have felt amazingly loved and welcomed at Kingsland so far, and we feel abundantly blessed to be here. Thank you for all you’ve done for us so far, and your commitment to all that we’re doing here. Bless you today and keep being Jesus!!!
