What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid does not cost you a penny more, but can add an additional 25p to every £1 you donate. When Kingsland Church Colchester receives a donation from a UK taxpayer, we're entitled to claim an amount of tax (calculated at the basic rate of income tax in that year) paid on that donation. Once you have given your permission for us to do this on your behalf, there is no need for you to do anything else.

All that is required is that you must be a taxpayer and that would have paid or will pay sufficient Income and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover all the Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year. Please note that it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

The amount of tax we claim will be 25% of the total value of your donations in that tax year. Furthermore, if you are a higher taxpayer, you are also entitled to claim the difference between the basic rate which we will claim and the amount of tax you have actually paid. For further details on how you can do this, please contact your tax office. If your tax situation changes and your gifts will no longer be eligible for the Gift Aid scheme please contact us and we will amend your record accordingly.

Hiya web, trust you’re having a good week

can I invite you to Connections on Sunday – after the 11am service. If as I think, you are part of Kingsland and not a partner – (and if our lists are wrong im sorry ) please come along to find out more or sign up.

There’s lots happening tonight, and it’s a microcosm of the church as a whole

A bundle of discipleship groups are meeting in homes or on Zoom as we encourage each other to conduct ourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel. The group that met here earlier today were buzzing afterwards as they had lunch in the cafe, so I’m trusting that the other groups will have a good time too

Remix is happening in the building. Remix is for secondary school youngsters who are taking faith seriously. 6pm. There’s normally around 25 youngsters plus some young leaders as part of it all. It’s a great addition to the Sunday and Friday youth groups that are so valuable

The marriage course starts tonight. 8pm on Zoom 589 493 2558 password coffee. 5 weeks to invest in your marriage, with Samuel and Grace. It’s part of the support we want to give to marriages and families. There’s a dance class happening now, a contact session and a tutoring group too, all are part of the children and family centre. 

Gateway is happening in the building tonight. It’s a social club for adults with learning difficulties. Such a brilliant atmosphere. 

We had a leaders meeting today. Really good. Talked about the hubs or centres that are developing in the church. Beautiful. Then received a prophetic word that was so encouraging helpful and pulled us forward. 

Been thinking about the future too, especially downstairs. Did an inspection of the empty buildIng today. We’re meant to do them regularly to check for livestock, leaks and lodgers. It’s not hard to look beyond the mess and see something glorious, helpful and positive. it’s good to dream…. 

And preparing for Sunday. Trying to tell myself that Paul couldn’t possibly mean it like that. I’ll have to see if I let you decide on Sunday or talk about something else. In the meantime do consider ‘what is the gospel?’  Please continue to pray that we’d be good news and share good news…..

So, hope to see you Sunday, if not before, and feel free to join in tonight, or tomorrow at Listening Ear or…. or….

oh, and please volunteer for the Free Family Funday on the 19th. can you help?

PS it’s the first Sunday of the month this weekend so that means Messy Church. 3.30 as well as the morning and evening services. And there’ll be opportunity to bring an offering as part of our worship. It also means next week is the second week, when 4business, MIW worship and games club meet….
