Hiya web, trust you’re having a good week
Big surprise last week when I went to the men’s loo and saw a vase of yellow daffodils! Even bigger surprise this week when they have been swapped for yellow roses!!
In fact there’s been a few more surprises recently. Been pleasantly surprised at the number of people around on a Sunday morning, it seems there is such a momentum in the church at the moment, which I guess is surprising in the whole scheme of things.
Surprised and delighted at some of the people who have offered to help at the Free Family Fun day on the 19th February. Thank you so much. We’d love some people to organise more games outside, some activities inside, or join the group braiding hair, painting faces or decorating biscuits. It would also be great to have a set down team. There’s one or two slots to perform in the cafe. Can you put a load of sweets in a jar or bake a cake to guess the weight or any other mobile activity? If we get a basketball net can you organise a shoot out, or if we get a couple of remote control cars could you mark out a track and organise some races? Or anything else really. Please email sara@kingsland.org.uk if you can help. Surprised that our Facebook post for the day has been shared 50 times, and apparently seen by nearly 10,000 people. Could be busy!
Surprised that Muyiwa is coming back to Kingsland on Saturday 7th May at a “Lost in His Presence” event. That’s not a Kingsland bash but it will be good fun. And it’s free. 4 – 8 pm
Pleasantly surprised at the initial burst of bookings for the men’s conference ‘walk worthy’ on the 19th March – https://kingsland.org.uk/get-involved/mens-ministry/
Surprised and pleased at the number of people at Connections on Sunday. It’s so good to find people who are keen to make a Kingsland Kingsland their home church.
Beautifully surprised by a conversation just now in the café with an unlikely guy who watched Seven’s sermon Sunday night. We do have some amazing and surprising conversations here regularly.
Pleased and surprised that David Campbell is able and willing to come and speak at both the morning services on Sunday 27th feb. Marvellous.
Always slightly surprised and consistently delighted at the effort and energy people show as they do things around Kingsland. The prayer encounter team have spent several weeks in training so they can offer sessions to more people. Ideal to help you to get over a bump in the road, or have, as someone described it, ‘a long spiritual bath’. Ian@kingsland.org.uk for more info.
It’s no surprise that there is a need for the half term food giveaway that we have been doing for sometime now. If you can help please email Ian@kingsland.org.uk
We gave out a gift Day letter on Sunday I’ll attach it below. It’s for the development of downstairs. Aldi currently are struggling to sub let but can’t vacate the lease till Nov 2024, so we will get the building then , or maybe before if they want to do a deal. We also gave out the new “welcome to Kingsland church” booklet that Arian put together. Nice. Well worth a read.
Anyway I’ll close, wishing you some good surprises, particularly that you be surprised by grace – and peace
