Hiya web, trust you’re having a good week
What do you buy for the middle aged man who has everything? For Christmas 2019 my daughter bought me a one-line-a-day diary Journal thing to record the best of days. Poor timing I think. 2020 and 2021 were not renowned for great days.
Been thinking about that quite a lot this week as Maggie and I are isolating: we both tested positive but are asymptomatic. Very few people are walking past the house because the school on the road opposite is shut for half term, so it feels like lockdown over again. As in lockdown Maggie has taken up baking bread again, smells delicious (so I obviously don’t have covid badly) but I suspect the taste will be as disappointing as it was in 2020
A couple of the 2020 highlights though were Great Days. One was the Free Family Fun day, another was the men’s Walk Worthy conference, and it’s great that we are able to do them both again this year.
The free family fun day is this Saturday. I figured as I am in lockdown I ought to get back onto Facebook so, along with 50 others I’ve shared one of those posts. 10,000 views so we could be busy. Please come, please bring people, please help. We really need a few more hair braiders, some sports people, some small games and maybe a performer or two in the cafe. Please email Sara@Kingsland.org.uk to get involved.
Walk worthy is 19th March and i have just heard that the wonderful William Wade Will be speaking.(He was preacher of the year a couple of years ago– He’s good!) please book in for free
Mike and Erin Holden who featured in our Kingsland Around the world newsletter, which is attached below for your delight and prayers, are visiting Colchester at the end of July. Mike’s parents have moved away so they are looking for somewhere to stay. Can you reply please if you have spare rooms or an empty house then that they might be able to use.
We’ve organised a few things recently so wanting to let you know about them. Connections is happening a few times and its for people wanting to make Kingsland their home church. Base camp is for people to consider their role gifts and ministry inside or outside kingsland, and I think the rest is self-explanatory. Some marvellous opportunities… please get them in the diary… especially the prophetic intensive on Sat 7 May and the joint morning pentecost service at Charter Hall with other Colchester churches on 5th June – a first!
I’m expecting to be out by the weekend so maybe see you Saturday, and I’m speaking Sunday morning, hopefully in the building this time! It really is so much better in every respect! Ben B is speaking at Wednesday at 1 this week.
Grace and peace
Neil
