Reclaim Gift Aid

Gift Aid It!Add 25% more to your donation at no cost to you. A Gift Aid declaration allows Kingsland Church Colchester to claim tax back on eligible donations. It means that for every £1 you donate to Kingsland Church Colchester we can claim back 25p, at no extra cost to you.

By ticking the "Yes" box, I agree I would like Kingsland Church Colchester to reclaim the tax on all qualifying donations I have made, as well as any future donations, until I notify them otherwise. I understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year I may be asked to pay any difference. I understand that Kingsland Church Colchester will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that I give.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid does not cost you a penny more, but can add an additional 25p to every £1 you donate. When Kingsland Church Colchester receives a donation from a UK taxpayer, we're entitled to claim an amount of tax (calculated at the basic rate of income tax in that year) paid on that donation. Once you have given your permission for us to do this on your behalf, there is no need for you to do anything else.

All that is required is that you must be a taxpayer and that would have paid or will pay sufficient Income and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover all the Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year. Please note that it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

The amount of tax we claim will be 25% of the total value of your donations in that tax year. Furthermore, if you are a higher taxpayer, you are also entitled to claim the difference between the basic rate which we will claim and the amount of tax you have actually paid. For further details on how you can do this, please contact your tax office. If your tax situation changes and your gifts will no longer be eligible for the Gift Aid scheme please contact us and we will amend your record accordingly.

‘Monthly’! News form Kingsland

Hi Web Hiya

I’m aware that I’ve not sent a monthly email for many months. Sorry. One of the reasons is that the monthly news is meant to be about the highlights, and of course there haven’t been any! We had to cancel our first youth conference in March, our Easter celebrations went online in April, Lost in his Presence was cancelled in May. We had to cancel our church away weekend in June and the summer was cancelled completely.

We did open at church in July which was encouraging. We have had small numbers in the building each week since with several visitors and a genuine sense of the Holy Spirit’s presence. In August we benefited from the eat out to help out scheme in our café. The figures were small but the encouragement was good. September we began to open up a little more as the centre bookings and café usage increased, and now in October we have gone to tier two and are uncertain where we go from here.

However we managed to switch everything online very quickly. We benefited from expertise within the church to have some really good online services. You can see some of the worship sessions and preaches on YouTube and Facebook. These are ongoing and we’ve been very pleased with the response.

Started daily vlogs which have proved popular and helpful on Facebook. if you like, comment or share, I guess it will pop up on your Facebook feed, check out the Kingsland Facebook page.

Small groups have continued online with various varying success. Some groups are fantastic but I think we all miss the face-to-face contact.

One highlight is that we have been able to start some courses. Act, mental health awareness, Youth leadership, developing your gifts, vlogs and blogs are all currently running which is good news. We also started running Alpha really early in lockdown and that’s continued

One development is that we are looking for a new youth and children’s worker to replace Davy when he leaves at the end of March to go back to New Zealand, and we are hiring a part-time comms person to develop a communication strategy for our web, social media and physical platforms. If you know anyone please put them in touch with me….

Please continue to pray for us, to stand with us as we ask the Lord to build his church and extend his kingdom here in Colchester

Thanks so much, I’ll try to get back into the habit of writing monthly, I might even produce those nice newsletters again rather than just a page of text!

Grace and peace

Neil
