Reclaim Gift Aid

Gift Aid It!Add 25% more to your donation at no cost to you. A Gift Aid declaration allows Kingsland Church Colchester to claim tax back on eligible donations. It means that for every £1 you donate to Kingsland Church Colchester we can claim back 25p, at no extra cost to you.

By ticking the "Yes" box, I agree I would like Kingsland Church Colchester to reclaim the tax on all qualifying donations I have made, as well as any future donations, until I notify them otherwise. I understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year I may be asked to pay any difference. I understand that Kingsland Church Colchester will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that I give.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid does not cost you a penny more, but can add an additional 25p to every £1 you donate. When Kingsland Church Colchester receives a donation from a UK taxpayer, we're entitled to claim an amount of tax (calculated at the basic rate of income tax in that year) paid on that donation. Once you have given your permission for us to do this on your behalf, there is no need for you to do anything else.

All that is required is that you must be a taxpayer and that would have paid or will pay sufficient Income and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover all the Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year. Please note that it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

The amount of tax we claim will be 25% of the total value of your donations in that tax year. Furthermore, if you are a higher taxpayer, you are also entitled to claim the difference between the basic rate which we will claim and the amount of tax you have actually paid. For further details on how you can do this, please contact your tax office. If your tax situation changes and your gifts will no longer be eligible for the Gift Aid scheme please contact us and we will amend your record accordingly.

Hiya

07 September 2021

Hiya Hi web, trust you’re having a good week

Well, it feels like we are back

Ian and Sara had a few days off last week so it’s nice to have them back again, and there are more bookings in the centre and more people using the cafe this week so far. And it looks as if that will continue through September

September started with the Hunnaballs light a candle memorial seventh. Hunnaballs were delighted with the prayer room  and I think all the team got to pray with someone during the day, what a privilege. The church social in Mersea the day before was fn but a little on the chilly side!

Sunday was busy, particularly in the 2nd service and the youth and children’s work. If you are wanting to avoid people there’s lots of room in the 9.15 and the 6.30 services as well as Wednesday at 1. Tomorrow at 1 there’ll be lots of prayer for healing as part of the service, and at 6.30 on Sunday it’s Encounter and a Baptismal service! We’re baptising people in the 11am service too – I think there are 8 people over the day.

Messy Church was fun, a good crowd, 75% of whom aren’t normally part of church. Similar story at Toddlers on Monday.

So it feels like we are underway, and to get off to a good start we’re holding three nights of prayer this wed thurs and friday at 7.30 in the room and on Zoom. Please join in

The other thing to join just now is the small groups. If you’re like me this time of year feels more like a new year that January. It really is a good time to join a discipleship group, one of the family ministry groups, community groups or other groups that are running this term. Please see the attached leaflet.

Thanks to those who have responded to the appeal to help the DNA trainees. Still looking for a host, Sunday lunch offers and folk to show them around at the end of sept / beginning of October. If you can help please reply.

And thanks too to hose who gave in our first Sunday offering this week, wether through the bank, the website or in the building. To make a gift please use the box or card machine in the building, or for online gifts use our CAF Bank account 405240 00017871. The donate button on the web site facilitates gifts through Stewardship services and Paypal. Thank you.

So, if you are part of Kingsland, you love Jesus and are part of the church here can I ask you to consider joining us in partnership. The way to that is through Connections – where we explain our church values and answer any questions you might have. If you get this email you are welcome on Sunday after the11am service – we’ll chat for an hour or so and explain what partnership here means.

Grace and peace

Neil

Hiya

02 September 2021

Hiya web, trust you’re having a good week

I think this August has been about as busy as any other. The holiday club was wonderful last week, the packed lunch giveaway is new for us in the summer, some of the groups have started back early as a summer trial in the centre, although this year we haven’t had the normal music or drama summer schools that sometimes use the building, its felt more normal.

The cafe has been quiet but that’s usual for August and the last couple of Sundays have felt like normal August weeks in many ways. This Sunday we will de more space to shekinah by opening the back again which allows more room to spread out.

This weekend feels like crossover week, from summer to autumn: just overheard a conversation in the cafe about putting the heating on. More pertinently….

Tonight I finish the last of the summer groups, for young dads. I’ve been so impressed, grateful and inspired by the summer groups.

There’s a training event tonight for children and youth leaders on additional needs

Tomorrow from 3 ish to 9ish we have a social at cudmore grove, East Mersea and you are most welcome. Nothing organised so bring a frisbee or a ball, a dog or your walking shoes, bring some food and a smile and meet some folk. Weather looks ok.

Saturday morning 8.30 it’s a men’s breakfast. Email ian@kingsland.org.uk to book in today please

Saturday 10 till 2 we have the ‘light a candle’ event with Hunnaballs. It’s looking really good with lots of the pastoral and prayer teams, lots of activities and we trust lots of visitors. Do bring people who have suffered loss over the last couple of years.

Sunday the youth and children’s groups all restart too. Im speaking on Samuel in the morning and Seven is speaking in the evening

And it’s Messy church at 3.30. Currently this is the only service you need to book tickets for because we need to know how many resources to provide.

Monday Alpha starts at 7.45 on Zoom. Such a good opportunity to invite people to investigate more about Jesus.

Wednesday at 1 next week is a healing service – simply worship and prayer for Healing

Next week we start autumn proper with three nights of prayer. Wednesday 8th, Thursday 9th and Friday 10th, 8 pm in the building and on zoom for an hour. It’s going to be an important term in several ways so please join us in prayer on at least one of those nights.
I say it’s important because Aldi plan to move out at the end of November to their new store at tollgate. We are waiting to see what they decide to do with the space. We understand they are looking for tenants to recoup some of the rent they will be paying us on the empty space at least until November 2024. The ball is in their court. Please pray.

There are baptisms on Sunday 12th. We think at all three services….  It’s not too late to join the happy throng who are getting wet ….

Connections is after the 11am service on Sunday 12th – We have a church partnership, other churches call it membership. If you’re not yet a partner and consider Kingsland your church please plan to come to Connections.

And then the autumn groups and opportunities start in earnest. Please find a way to connect with people and join in. We love Sunday or Wednesday get togethers but often the more important and spiritually significant things happen in small groups as we work out our discipleship together, learn from one another and contribute. Please see the leaflet attached and join in!

Anyway, I need to think about Samuel for Sunday morning, and help set up the Shekinah space as a prayer room for Saturday. Glory!

Grace and peace

Neil
